Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor will be tying the knot with her long-term beau Anand Ahuja in a private ceremony on May 8 in Mumbai. Though speculations were rife since months, the families confirmed the wedding date only a couple of days ago. The two-day affair with mehendi ceremony on May 7 and wedding on May 8 afternoon will be according to Sikh rituals.

On May 1, The Kapoors and The Ahujas made a joint announcement about the wedding. The official statement says: ''The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.''

We have already shown you pictures of Sonam's wedding cards which is as classy as the couple. The beautiful card has paintings of trees and leaves. While the mehendi will be held at Sunteck, Signature Island, BKC from 4 pm, the wedding will take place between 11 am to 12:30 pm at Rockdale, 226, Bandstand, Bandra, which is Sonam's aunt bungalow. The ceremony will be followed by lunch. On the same day at 8 pm, a lavish party will be thrown at The Leela, Mumbai.

 Mehendi will be held at Sonam’s 35-crore luxurious duplex apartment in Sunteck Signature Island building at Bandra Kurla Complex. The apartment is spread across a vast area of over 7,000 square feet. The ceremony will be held in a ballroom-like banquet area. See picture below.

The D-Day will be held at a lavish bungalow of Sonam’s aunt Kavita Singh (mother Sunita’s sister) at Bandra Bandstand near Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat. The 55,000 square feet property is said to have a spectacular pooja room. See pictures

Sonam will start working straight after her wedding. Sonam will walk on the red carpet of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival as L'oreal Paris brand ambassador. The actress, who will be completing eight years at Cannes will attend the festival on May 14 and May 15.
