Bollywood's style icon Sonam Kapoor has been trending all day long and the credit goes to her dreamy wedding. The actress got married to her boyfriend Anand Ahuja on May 8 as per Sikh rituals. The couple tied the not at Sonam's aunt Kavita Singh's posh bungalow in Mumbai.
Sonam's wedding was an intimate affair and was attended by a couple of her Bollywood friends and relatives. The videos and pictures of the ceremony have already gone viral and we have to say that Sonam's wedding was a fun affair.
After the wedding, a cake cutting ceremony was held for Sonam and Anand. The duo began the new phase of their life by cutting a quirky cake. The chocolate cake on the top had a bride dragging the groom by his collar. Well, no points for guessing that the bride is Sonam, who is dragging Anand from the basketball court. Sonam and Anand have been dating each other for over two years. Though the couple remained tight-lipped on their relationship, their pictures on social media spoke a thousand words about their love. After months of speculations, Ahuja and Kapoor family finally released a joint statement on May 1 confirming the wedding. It read, “The Kapoor and Ahuja families take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the May 8 in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family’s need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love as we celebrate this special moment in our lives.”
Within a week after her wedding, Sonam will head to Cannes, where she will walk the red carpet as L'Oréal Paris brand ambassador. Sonam will next be seen in Shashanka Ghosh's Veere Di Wedding, which will release on June 1.
