Shahid Kapoor, who will be soon seen in the upcoming Bollywood film Kabir Singh, has been garnering praise for his spell-binding performance ever since the teaser hit the internet. Recently, the actor went candid and revealed what all he had to go through to prepare for his much-talked about role in Kabir Singh and he said that he included smoking about 20 cigarettes a day and had to take a two-hour long shower to get rid of the smell before returning home to his kids.
While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Shahid Kapoor revealed that playing Kabir Singh in the film took a toll on him as it was a difficult role. He said, “I don’t endorse smoking at all. However, the role required it, as the protagonist uses it to channel his angst and rage. It wasn’t easy, and it came to a point where I smoked almost 20 cigarettes a day. It would take me close to two hours to shower and get rid of the smells before I could return home to my children.” For the unversed, Kabir Singh is the Hindi remake of Telegu film Arjun Reddy. While Shahid Kapoor will be reprising the role of Vijay Deverakonda, Kiara Advani will be seen in the role played by Shalini Pandey in the original.
Shahid Kapoor also took to his Instagram to share his looks from the film in which he is seen smoking. He wrote, “As a star one is so conditioned to showcasing oneself at ones best.
