Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao’s 2003 film Ishq Vishk to get a sequel, read details

Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao’s 2003 hit film Ishq Vishk enjoys a huge fan base even today. There is hardly anyone who didn’t fall in love with the duo’s adorable chemistry and childlike innocence that they portrayed on the big screen. The rom-com was especially a huge hit among the youngsters who could easily relate to the college romance. Latest reports suggest that the makers of the film are planning a sequel and have already started working on the script.

Going by the reports in Mumbai Mirror. producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that a sequel to Ishq Vishk is underway as he said, “Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance. Hopefully, in the next two-three months, we will lock the script and start looking for the director and cast.” The film was Shahid Kapoor’s debut film and earned him all the recognition. Infact, fans loved Shahid and Amrita Rao’s chemistry in the film and the duo went on to work in a number of films like Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, Shikhar and Vivah. Vivaah being another superhit film people love till date.

Directed by Ken Ghosh, Ishq Vishk had garnered approximately 122.63 million at the box office. It revolved around the lives of two best friends, Shahid aka Rajiv and Amrita aka Payal who fall in love with each other. After biopics, Bollywood has turned towards sequels and in the list of sequels to films like Sadak, Student of the year, Housefull, and Hindi Medium and others, Ishq Vishk is a happy addition.

On the related note, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu. He is currently shooting for his next Bollywood film Kabir Singh and also has a sports biopic on boxer Dingko Singh in the pipeline. The actor will be turning producer with the film as well. Talking about Amrita Rao, she was recently seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Thackeray.
