Sara Ali Khan is currently in a happy space. The actress has not only bagged Filmfare Award for her performance in Kedarnath but is currently shooting for a film with her crush Kartik Aaryan. However, recently things turned a bit awkward for the actress post Filmfare Awards. During the award ceremony, Sara in an interview at the red carpet referred to Shah Rukh Khan as an uncle.
"I remember when my father used to host the Filmfare with Shah Rukh uncle. I used to love it,'' she said in a video. Well, this should not be a problem for many but it allegedly irked SRK fans who took to Twitter to slam her. Some of the ardent fans were shocked knowing how she can call uncle to SRK. However, there were some who supported her.
''Sara Ali Khan called SRK uncle at Filmfare and people are trolling her. What do you expect a 23 YO to call a 50 plus man who is in real life, older than her father? Stupid fans need to accept their hero has aged enough to be called uncle,'' wrote a Twitter user.
Another Twitter user pointed at the age-gap which exists in the industry. ''Well she did a great service. At least we can hope the industry noticed, gets more real in writing scripts so we won't have to put up with him serenading girls of at least Sara's generation on screen!,'' the comment reads.
Some SRK fans even commented that no one trolled Sara and the superstar's name is being dragged unnecessarily.
On the professional front, Sara Ali Khan is currently busy with the shooting of her upcoming film titled Aaj Kal with Kartik Aaryan. It is the sequel to the hit film Love Aaj Kal which had her father Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. She was last seen in Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh.
