Sexual misconduct reports are untrue: Sanjana Sanghi defends Sushant Singh Rajput

Many months ago, reports of Sushant Singh Rajput making his Kizie Aur Manny co-star Sanjana Sanghi uncomfortable, with his "over-friendliness" and flirtatious banter went viral. But director Mukesh Chhabra rubbished the rumours saying that all is well between the lead pair and nothing of this sort happened on the sets of his film.

But with #MeToo movement gaining momentum, Sushant found himself in the line of fire after Twitter users began to accuse the actor of sexual harassment.

The 32-year-old actor in his defence not only refuted the rumours but also shared screenshots of his conversations with Sanjana on Instagram. He said, "I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what actually happened, in the midst of this curated, well timed and agenda driver smear campaign. From the first day of the shoot till the last day, this is what happened on the sets with Sanjana. Misconduct ? Not at al. Agenda ? You decide."

Mukesh Chhabra, too, tweeted in Sushant's defence, "I totally stand by @itsSSR - no such incident happened on the sets and let's not have a Twitter trial and make an innocent person suffer for somebody else's ulterior motives I had clarified this on twitter long back and I still maintain it."

And now a few days after Sushant came out clear with his version, Sanjana finally broke her silence on the entire episode.

In a social media post, Sanjana wrote, "On returning from a long trip to the US yesterday, I read several baseless and unfounded stories with respect to misconduct and misbehaviour on the sets of our film Kizie Aur Manny. I'd like to clarify that no such incident took place with me. Let's put an end to these conjectures."

Defending himself after he lost his official Twitter verification, Sushant shared a few screenshots of his conversation with Sanjana.

"I feel sad to reveal personal information but it seems that there is no other way to state what was, in the midst of this curated and well-timed smear campaign. From the first till the last day of the shoot, this is what happened on the set with Sanjana," he had written.
