John Abraham and Manoj Bajapyee starrer Satyameva Jayate cashed in on Independence Day zeal along with Akshay Kumar starrer Gold. Both the films set the box office on fire, however, the next day, which was a working day led to a dip in the business of both the films. However, making a good use of holiday on Parsi New Year, Satyameva Jayate made a slight growth at the box office. The movie has so far minted Rs. 37.62 crore.
Satyameva Jayate which made Rs 20.52 crore on its opening day saw a decline in its business on the second day. The action drama earned Rs 7.92 on day 2, however, picking up the pace on day 3, it has garnered Rs 9.18 crore. A report in Bollywood Hungama states that Milap Milan Zaveri's film continues to set the cash register ringing by making a total collection of Rs 37.62 crore.
Satyameva Jayate is a vigilante drama featuring John in the role of Veer and Manoj Bajpayee in the role of DCP Shivansh Rathod. The story of the flick revolves around uprooting corruption from the society. It talks about a man who takes the pledge to teach a lesson to all corrupt policemen.
The movie has received a mixed response from critics and is doing a steady business despite being 'A' rated action film. The film also features Aisha Sharma and Amruta Khanvilkar in important roles.
However, despite the good performance of the movie, John Abraham has decided not to celebrate the success in solidarity with Kerala flood victims.
