Bollywood actor Saqib Saleem, who has played cricket for Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir before entering the film industry, is planning to promote cricket for the blind in India. The actor, who will be seen with superstar Salman Khan in Race 3, is the member of the Mumbai Heroes at the Celebrity Cricket League, a non-professional men’s cricket league. He has also arranged for free coaching for the special players.
Talking about the upcoming match for the visually challenged and his association with them, Saqib said, "For me, passion supersedes everything and just the passion that these special players have for the game makes me want to associate with them."
He added, "As I grew up in Delhi and played most of the cricket there, I know of the cricketing community there and even spoke to my coaches for the training of these players and my coaches were more than happy to facilitate it."
The promising actor has had a passion for cricket since he was four.
On the work front, Saqib Saleem has teamed up with Salman Khan for Race 3. The film will feature Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Desi Shah and Freddy Daruwala in pivotal roles. Talking about his work experience with Salman Khan, he said, “We have shot one schedule. It's gone very well. We shot some action which I have never done. I am really excited to see how it looks like."
