Sanjay Kapoor speaks up about daughter Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood career
Just like sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor has also set on the road to enter Bollywood but not with an acting course abroad but by being an assistant director on upcoming Bollywood film Gunjan Saxena biopic. Shanaya Kapoor, who is the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor enjoys a lot of attention because of her filmy background and now her father Sanjay Kapoor has revealed that she always wanted to enter the film industry.
While talking to Pinkvilla about his daughter Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood career, Sanjay Kapoor revealed, , "It's true that Shanaya is now in Lucknow and working as an assistant director on Janhvi's film. It was a joint decision. She was very keen on doing something different to understand the space rather than just wasting time. Before she wanted to take up a film, she didn't want to be abroad for a three-year-course. Instead, she chose something personal like this." He added, "She is doing her acting workshops, her dance classes and other things that you need to do before you take it up as a career... Obviously, I'm always there to guide her. Nothing in life is better than experience."
Looks like Shanaya is inspired by cousins Arjun and Sonam Kapoor as they also started their Bollywood journey by first being an assistant director. Sonam Kapoor assisted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Black and Arjun Kapoor assisted Nikhil Advani on Kal Ho Naa Ho and Salaam-e-Ishq before he debuted in 2012's Ishaqzaade.
Shanaya Kapoor appears to be the most pampered child in the Kapoor clan as she is the youngest. Her cousin brothers and sisters have often shared adorable pictures of her on their social media where they are seen pulling her leg. On Shanaya’s 19th birthday, Arjun Kapoor shared a cute childhood picture with her and in his captioned, he teased Shanaya for being cuter than her. He wrote, “What a cute child, round n chubby with that chapat hairdo & there's @shanayakapoor02 also in the picture. Happy birthday I guess... Brace yourself Shanaya, u gotta match the cute quotient of ur cousin ASAP.”
