Saif Ali Khan to play Sara Ali Khan’s father in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2
Ever since Sara Ali Khan joined her father Saif Ali Khan on Karan Johar’s entertaining chat show Koffee With Karan 6, fans have been dying to see the duo together onscreen as well. Well, looks like they don’t have to wait long as Saif has been reportedly roped in by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali to play Sara Ali Khan’s onscreen father in the sequel to his 2009 superhit film Love Aaj Kal. Sara already attracted much attention after her debut on the chat show and people went crazy over the sparkling chemistry between this father and daughter duo. Now that they will appear together on the big screen as well, it will be difficult for the fans to wait.
Going by the reports in DNA, an inside source told the tabloid, “Saif Ali Khan has been roped in to play an important role in the rom-com, which will be a sequel to his own hit film with Imtiaz — Love Aaj Kal. This will be the first time that Saif will be sharing screen space with his daughter Sara. It’s not just a cameo but a full-fledged role. He will play the role of Sara’s father on screen as well.”
The reports also suggest that the filmmaker is penning down the sequel to Love Aaj Kal right now and has decided to cast Saif and Sara together in the movie. Fans loved the bonding between Saif Ali Khan and Rishi Kapoor, who played his father, in the 2009 hit and now Saif will be stepping into Rishi Kapoor's shoes and will guide daughter Sara Ali Khan.
The next question that arises is who will romance Sara in the film? Rumours are rife that Imtiaz Ali is planning to rope in Kartik Aaryan in the film. However, Kartik was asked about it at the recent press conference, he said, “I think this question could be better answered by Imtiaz sir about. Till the time, he doesn’t give confirmation on the same I won’t be able to comment on it.”
