The sudden death of veteran film and TV actress Rita Bhaduri left fans in a state of complete shock. The actress, who was last seen in the serial Nimki Mukhiya, breathed her last on Tuesday after kidney ailment. The funeral took place in Andheri, Mumbai where family and celebrities from the television world were seen in attendance. Rita Bhaduri was admitted at an ICU for the past 10 days in Mumbai but got cardiac arrest at about 1.45 am.

Popular actor Satish Shah attended the funeral and bid an emotional farewell to the actress.

Actor Shishir Sharma confirmed the news by posting on Facebook, “We deeply regret to inform you that Reeta Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond. The funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East Extremely sad.. lost a wonderful human being .. a mother to many of us.. will miss u Ma.”

Rita Bhaduri has worked in many TV shows, including Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Kumkum and Amanat. Her films credit included Hero No 1, Virasat, Raja, Julie, Beta, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and many other films.
She was from the 1973 batch of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and her batch included actress, Zarina Wahab.

Actress Zarina Wahab, who lost a friend in actor Rita Bhaduri, said she was trying to meet the actor but to no avail. In an interview with Hindustan Times , Zarina said, “Rita Bhaduri was the prettiest lady in our batch. I don’t know what to say now. I am in shock after hearing the news of her demise.”

Zarina said she was unaware about Rita’s health issues. Zarina last met Rita at a FTII function. “Rita looked distinctly weak but did not discuss her health. It is extremely shocking and sad that my friend is no more. My problem is compounded by the fact that since early morning, I am tied at SJ studio (Saki Naka) for a film shoot and cannot go to see her even now. I will miss her a lot,” Zarina added.
