Ranveer Singh has been training hard to nail his character in upcoming Kabir Khan film 83. The film is based on India's glorious World Cup win in 1983 under the captaincy of cricket legend Kapil Dev. In order to get right into the skin of his character, Ranveer Singh is spending a lot of time with Kapil Dev. Right before commening the shoot, the Padmaavat actor made sure he knew enough about him to portray him honestly on silverscreen. 83 is scheduled to on floors on June 5 in Glasgow. Before the commencement of shoot, Kapil Dev and Ranveer Singh were seen indulged in a deep conversation in the latest Instagram pictures. Ranveer shared a series of candid pictures with former Indian cricket captain. He wrote, "Insightful conversations and inspiring stories are the seeds you need to deliver exceptional performances.”
Ranveer Singh has been spending a lot of time with Kapil Dev to adapt his mannerism and lifestyle. He went to Dharamshala along with the rest of the cast in April and even visited the cricketer in Delhi. Talking about his preparations, Ranveer told Indain Express, "It’s a first of its kind exercise in my acting process where I’ll be studying the man himself in the flesh for my on-screen portrayal of him. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to learn about life from a true legend.”
Reports are rife that Deepika Padukone has also come on board as Kapil Dev's on screen wife Romi Bhatia. She has also offered to co-produce the film as a producer. This would be Ms Padukone's second production venture after Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, 83 also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Nishant Dahhiya as Roger Binny, R Badree as Sunil Valson and Pankaj Tripathi as their coach PR. 83 is scheduled to release in April next year. It will release in three languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
