Ranveer Singh’s Simmba is a remake of Jr. NTR’s film Temper. Read details inside

Ranveer Singh is all set to treat his fans with another high-octane Bollywood film Simmba by the end of this year. The actor along with the makers released the trailer of the film just recently and fans went crazy over it. But like other Rohit Shetty films, Simmba also is a remake of Jr NTR's film 'Temper'. While the fans are suggesting that the film is a remake, director Rohit Shetty has revealed that audiences will see only a few scenes from the South film. Jr. NTR’s film Temper was a blockbuster and featured him as a corrupt cop, since Ranveer Singh also plays the same character, it is suggested that Simmba is a complete remake of the Tollywood film.

In Temper, Jr. NTR plays the cop who benefits from people’s misery around him and just wants to earn money. Daya, the inspector in Temper, is also an orphan who grows up watching cops live the high life, which is why he is inspired to become a policeman. Similarly, in Simmba, Ranveer plays the role of Bhalerao Sangram who is a Hindi version of Daya. In Temper, Daya’s heart gets changed after an emotional encounter with a rape victim’s sister. In Simmba as well, the whole issue is related to the rape victim and the justice she deserves.

In Temper, Prakash Raj played the role of the villain whereas in Simmba, Sonu Sood plays the villain who has Bhalerao on a leash initially. Simmba’s trailer hit the internet on December 3 and became a popular hit among the audience instantly. In the trailer, Ranveer Singh looks fierce as he dons the role of a cop for the first time, sporting a classic handlebar moustache, he manages to catch your attention even in this non-glamorous avatar.

The trailer opens with Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Bajirao Singham from Shetty’s other film franchise, and introducing Ranveer’s character. Ranveer Singh plays Sangram Bhalerao in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. He is shown as a local hoodlum in the beginning but transforms into a more responsible person as the trailer progresses. When the woman he treats as his sister is killed, Bhalerao takes it upon himself to bring down the rapists who murdered her.
