Ranveer Singh reveals he always dreamt of winning award with Deepika Padukone besides as wife
Ranveer Singh impresses the masses with his stellar performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Not just the fans bit even critics were all over him for his portrayal of this negative character. As the award season start, Ranveer Singh bagged the Best Actor award at the recently held Star Screen Awards. A video clip from the ceremony went viral on the internet which showed his wife Deepika Padukone teary-eyed as he received the award.
Talking about the same while promoting his upcoming Rohit Shetty film Simmba, Ranveer Singh said, “I always had this dream that one day Deepika would be sitting next to me and I would be married to her. They would call my name for best actor. I would turn to her, kiss her, go up on stage and receive my award. And it happened. It was pretty magical.” The actor also revealed that it was natural for Deepika to get emotional after the testing experience of Padmaavat.
By his own admission, the actor is loving this new phase of life and recommends marriage to all. In one of teh interviews he said, “She calls me asking when I'm coming home, what l want for dinner. It's really lovely. I would recommend marriage to all young people.” The actor even claimed that Deepika is a wonderful home-maker.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s fans were head over heels with the duo’s fairytale wedding, however, Deepika likes to call it ‘magical’. She said, “More than fairytale, I’d say it was magical. It was lovely- the weather was perfect, the sun was beautiful, I think magical is the one word to sum it up.”
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had been dating for six years before they decided to tie the knot. Deepika opened up about the time she first realised that Ranveer was special for her. She reportedly said that she was in a studio when she met him and he was openly flirting with her although he was dating somebody else at that point. She also added that once they started dating they used to go to various restaurants, but reveals that their most special moments were during the prep of ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela’ at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house.
The actress remembered an incident when they were having lunch at the filmmaker’s house and a piece of crab got stuck in her tooth and to make it awkward for her, he said ‘there’s a crab in your mouth’ and Deepika being herself immediately responded by saying, ‘then take it out’! She confessed that this is a moment that all the three of them won’t forget. Their families reportedly met three years ago.
