The bold and handsome actor Ranveer Singh, who is currently enjoying his success as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat, is grabbing headlines for rejecting a whopping offer. Well, it wasn’t a film offer but the actor was apparently offered Rs 2 crore to appear at a wedding function for 30 minutes. No matter how big the deal seemed, Ranveer said a complete no and, the reason behind it was his upcoming film Gully Boy. The actor is currently busy prepping up for the Zoya Akhtar film, which also stars Alia Bhatt.
“Ranveer is a perfectionist when he is shooting and concentrates on the minutest details as part of his prep for the character he plays. For him to pull off this appearance would mean him wrapping up the shoot (he is shooting from 6am to 6pm every day for Zoya's film), flying to a different city and returning the same night to report to the set at the crack of dawn the following day, So, he told his team that he would like to concentrate on performing his role better than focus on the money offered and asked them to decline it," a source was quoted as saying to DNA.
After making a thunderous performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. Don’t go by the name, as the first looks are nowhere close to the glamour of the title.
Recently, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar dropped a subtle hint about Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s character in Gully Boy. In the picture, Alia Bhatt is clad in a Hijab while Ranveer is looking just an ordinary guy from a small town.
Sharing the picture, Zoya Akhtar wrote, “14th February 2019 #gullyboy”, which is the official release date of Gully Boy. Earlier, pictures from the sets of Gully Boy were leaked on social media.
Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and is based on the lives of street rappers such as Divine and Naezy. The film is slated to release on February 14, 2019.
