Ranbir Kapoor is all hearts about Sunday lunches with grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor
October 1 started with the most saddening event witnessed by the film fraternity. The Kapoor family witnessed the death of Krishna Raj Kapoor, the widow of the legendary Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor. She was 87 and passed away at 4 am due to cardiac arrest. Krishna married Raj Kapoor in May 1946, is survived by her sons Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, and daughters Ritu Nanda and Rima Kapoor-Jain. "Regret to announce I lost my mother early this morning. She died peacefully," Randhir Kapoor tweeted.
Her grandson, Ranbir Kapoor was extremely close to Krishna and the demise has certainly come as a shock and sorrow to the family and the film industry. Now, in a throwback video from the Vogue BTS shoot, Ranbir Kapoor shared the traditional Sunday lunches stories and how Sunday at his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor’s place was awesome.
He said, "We meet every Sunday at our grandmother's place where she has this amazing spread of food, several Peshawari dishes. The entire family comes and we spend the entire day there chatting, speaking about each other's work and experience... hearing the time when Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were an actor. My grandmother used to tell us stories about my grandfather. It's awesome just to hear these stories. It is nostalgic and it is history."

Besides his career, Raj Kapoor was also known as a charming personality in real-life and his Chembur house parties were always the event of the year, every year.
