Mommy Neetu Kapoor has different plans for ‘apple of her eye’ Ranbir Kapoor. She is not very impressed with her son’s link-up rumours with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. She is so miffed that she is trying to get Ranbir Kapoor take the wedding vows as soon as possible. Does it mean Ranbir is going to have an arranged marriage?
A report in Mumbai Mirror says that Neetu Kapoor is trying hard to settle him down. She is only bothered about her darling son’s marriage these days, nothing else. Every wedding she attends, she tries to find a suitable match for her son. This is so Indian parent like, isn’t it?
Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, is in no mood to follow his mother’s diktat. He has supposedly told her that he will settle down in life whenever he wants to. But he should be aware that Indian parents listen to nobody when it comes to marriage.
Rumour mills are churning that Neetu Kapoor even made her son meet an NRI girl in London. A source told a tabloid in May, “The London visit could very well be for a meet and greet with a well known family in London for the actor's marriage. Though nothing is confirmed as of now, but time will tell..."
Rishi Kapoor while speaking to a newspaper, told, “Ranbir is having a terrific time with all the success and the money he's got, and age being in his favour too. Why does he have to get married and spoil it all so soon? Shaadi ke liye bahut time hai abhi usko (He's got enough time in hand to get married). Let him have a nice time right now."
Earlier when Mahira Khan was slammed by online trolls over her ‘smoking’ pictures with Ranbir Kapoor, the actor stood up in Verna actress’ support. He said, “"I've gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love."
Mahira Khan later apologised for her pictures. She said, “To be honest, I understand where all the criticism came from and it didn't come from a place of hate. I'm not talking about the trolls but those who were genuinely disappointed to see those pictures. It's the same disappointment that my nani or my mamoo would have felt seeing that. So even now when I meet an older lady who says that she didn't like the pictures, I'm quick to apologise."
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is busy shooting for his upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic. The actor has also sweated out a lot in the gym to resemble young Sanjay Dutt in the film. The film is slated to release in March, 2018.
