We’re living in the world of troll culture. No matter what you do, people on social media will find a problem with everything you post on your profile. And women, specifically, are more targeted for their choice of clothes. Taapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor, Fatima Sana Shaikh and many other A-listers of Bollywood have faced the wrath of trolls on social media. Radhika Apte becomes the latest victim to social media.
Recently, she posted a picture of her Goa trip in which she was soaking some sun, wearing a bikini. While many dropped appreciative comments on her picture, trolls didn’t take any time to slut-shame her for going ‘against Indian culture’.
The Badlapur actress was unfazed by the negative and nasty comments she was getting on her Instagram post. Talking about the trolls, Radhika Apte told DNA, “I didn't even know I was being trolled till someone told me. It's ridiculous! Do people expect me to wear a sari on a beach?"
Radhika Apte is the latest to enter the line of celebrities who were trolled for wearing a bikini. Many Bollywood actresses were defamed on social media just for their choice of clothes. When Radhika was asked how she deals with the trolls, she said, “I don't know them, so I don't deal with them."
On the work front, Radhika Apte was seen in R. Balki’s PadMan which also starred Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles. She’s going to make her web series debut in Netflix India’s first original series Sacred Games. It is an adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s critically-acclaimed book Sacred Games.
