Ashoke Pandit wants action against Kapil Sharma for supporting Navjot Singh Sidhu
Kapil Sharma and Navjot Singh Sidhu are ruling the headlines for all the wrong reasons post their controversial comments on Pulwama terror attack. While Navjot Singh Sidhu was already under the scanner for saying that the nation should not be blamed for the actions of a handful of people, Kapil Sharma also faced the heat on social media after he supported the politician. Netizens are flooding the internet with hashtags like ‘Boycott Sidhu’ and ‘Boycott Kapil Sharma Show’ and are also asking for strict actions to be taken against them.
The producers of the most popular comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, had maintained silence on the whole controversy but now one of the producers of Bollywood film The Accidental Prime minister Ashoke Pandit has taken to Twitter to request Salman Khan to take action against the comedian as well as Navjot Singh Sidhu. He wrote, “Dear @BeingSalmanKhan . Would like U to act against @KapilSharmaK9 for supporting @sherryontopp ‘ s antinational activities. This request is being made to U as you are the producer of the show. #BoycottKapilSharma @SonyTV”
While interacting with the media at an event in Chandigarh, Kapil Sharma was seen talking about the controversy and he said, “There should be a permanent solution to this problem. If sacking Sidhu Ji was a solution, then Sidhu Ji is smart enough to walk out of the show himself. So, people are being misled with hashtags like ‘#BoycottSidhu’ and ‘#BoycottKapilSharmaShow’. Right now one should focus on the genuine problem and the attention of the youth should not be taken away from the real issue.” Watch the video here-
Post Navjot Singh Sidhu’s comments on Pulwama terror attack, the makers have already asked him to maintain distance from the show as it was tampering its reputation. Archana Puran Singh has already replaced the politician from his seat on the show and has also shot for a couple of episodes. While the actress has said that she hasn’t signed any contract with the makers of The Kapil Sharma Show, the rumour has it that she will be permanently seen on the show. The channel has also released a video featuring Archana Puran Singh in the upcoming episodes.
