Prakash Jha to act in Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar starrer Saand Ki Aankh

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar have kick-started shooting for their film on shooter dadi, titled Saand Ki Aankh. Anurag Kashyap's upcoming production is a sports drama and is based on the lives of octogenarian sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar of Johri, Uttar Pradesh. We have already got a glimpse of the film, however, both the actors haven't revealed their looks for the project yet.

Now, this interesting duo has been joined by a talented director-producer, who has made his acting debut with Jai Gangaajal. Yes, Prakash Jha has joined the cast of Saand Ki Aaankh. The movie which is being directed by debutant Tushar Hiranandani also has Mukkabaaz fame Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal role.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the news. Sharing a picture from the sets, he wrote, ''Prakash Jha joins the cast of #SaandKiAankh... Will enact a pivotal role... Stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar... Directed by Tushar Hiranandani... Produced by Reliance Entertainment, Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar''.

Saand Ki Aankh was previously titled Womaniya, however, Kashyap got engulfed in a legal tussle with journalist-producer Pritish Nandy's production house over it. Later, the makers decided to rename the film. For unversed, Kashyap owns the Intellectual Property Rights of the term Womaniya from his 2012 film Gangs of Wasseypur but Nandy registered the title beforehand.

Expressing his anger, Kashyap took to Twitter to write, ''So we have decided to not pay the extortion sum of 1 crore to Pritish Nandy. He can sit on the title and warm it and hope for it to hatch into something worthwhile for his company for once,” adding, “While we go ahead with what (the makers) want the film to be. Saand Ki Aankh. I am sorry that I had faith in Mr. Nandy''.

On a related note, Kashyap is producing Saand Ki Aankh after the production house Phantom, which he was part of, got dissolved. Meanwhile, director Tushar Hiranandani has previously worked as a writer on Dishoom, Ek Villain, ABCD 2 and Grand Masti.
