Alaia Furniturewala will make her Bollywood debut with Saif Ali Khan’s Jawani Janeman

Other than Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, Ahan Shetty, 2019 is all set to witness the big Bollywood debut of another star kid, Pooja Bedi’s gorgeous daughter Alaia Furniturewala. Even before venturing into the industry, the star kid has already become a sensation on the internet with over 3,55,000 followers on her verified Instagram account. Now, she will mark her name in Bollywood with Saif Ali Khan’s next film Jawani Janeman. Directed by Nitin Kakkar of Filmistan fame, the film is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and revolves around his relationship with his daughter. Alaia will be seen playing the onscreen daughter of Saif Ali Khan.

Confirming the news, Saif told a leading daily, "She has all the qualities we were looking for in the young lead, the charm and energy to take the film to the level that it needs. We are lucky to have found our perfect cast and I'm looking forward to work with Alaia." It is also said that the makers zeroed in on Aalia after screen-testing 50 aspirants.

Ever since the news of Alaia’s debut broke on the internet, comparisons between her and Ananya Panday began. Talking about the same, Alaia told a leading daily, "There is so much going on for actresses today. Janhvi (Kapoor) and Sara (Ali Khan, Saif's daughter) made their debuts last year. This year it's Ananya (Panday, Chunky's daughter) and me, among others. I think our film choices have been different from each other and that makes it exciting. We aren't trying to fit in." She added that her contemporaries "are bringing our individuality and choices to the table".

The buzz also had it that Alaia will take inspiration from Sara Ali Khan to play Saif's daughter in Jawani Janeman. Talking about the same she said, "It's a funny derivative. I am playing Saif Ali Khan's daughter, not the real-life Sara. In fact, the character is a lot like the real me. The audience will not just get to see me perform but will also get a little glimpse into my real life." On working with Saif, Alaia said, "He is one of the finest actors we have, and I hope to learn a lot from him."
