Omar Abdullah takes dig at Vivek Oberoi, wants Salman Khan in PM Modi's biopic

PM Modi's biopic is being directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sandeep Ssingh.

Omar Abdullah wants Salman Khan in PM Modi's biopic

Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and vice-president of National Conference wants Salman Khan to play the titular role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biopic. The politician took a dig at the biopic saying PM Modi has to settle for Vivek Oberoi. The movie will feature Oberoi essaying the role of PM Modi. Makers have already released the first look of the film. The politician also talked about the forthcoming movie, The Accidental Prime Minister in his tweet. Veteran actor Anupam Kher plays the role of former PM Manmohan Singh in the political drama. Abdullah feels that 'life is unfair' as Singh is being portrayed by an actor of such 'calibre'. ''Life is unfair. Dr Manmohan Singh got someone of the calibre of Anupam Kher. Earlier in a tweet, Abdullah had slam PM Modi. Soon after the release of The Accidental Prime Minister's trailer, he wrote, ''Can't wait for when they make The Insensitive Prime Minister. So much worse than being the accidental one''.

On a related note, PM Modi's biopic is being directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sandeep Ssingh. The movie will go on floors in mid-January. The shooting will be extensively done in Gujarat apart from other states. Omung has earlier directed biographical dramas such as Sarbjit and Mary Kom.

Meanwhile, The Accidental Prime Minister, which is scheduled to release on January 11 is based on the book by Manmohan Singh's then media advisor Sanjaya Baru with the same name. The movie has been directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte.
