Nick Jonas chanted Sanskrit mantras perfectly, reveals Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are the flavour of the season. The duo surprised everyone with a lovestruck picture after their Roka ceremony and wishes started pouring in. While a lot has been heard and said about the rituals and the engagement bash, Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has revealed interesting details about her soon to be son-in-law Nick Jonas.
Talking to DNA After Hrs about the Roka ceremony and daughter Priyanka Chopra, Madhu Chopra revealed, “Nick enjoyed the prayers during the puja. It was a new thing for him and he took it seriously. He followed what our panditji said, and chanted the Sanskrit mantras accurately. Both he and his parents did it beautifully. They are nice people.”

Like every mother, Madhu Chopra was always worried about her daughter’s marriage and used to tell her to settle down. This is no news that Priyanka Chopra is a strong-headed woman and has always been very ambitious about her career. Finally, when the day came, Madhu Chopra was beaming with joy. She said, “Priyanka has always been ambitious about her career and I was just supporting her and wishing the best for her, as a mother. I used to pester her, but in the last two-three years, I had stopped. I had given up. Yeh sab cheez ka ek time hota hai, it’s all destiny.”
While the roka and engagement have been done according to the traditional rituals in India, it won’t be a surprise if the couple gets married in America. However, Madhu Chopra reveals that she wants an Indian wedding for her daughter. She said, “My daughter knew I wanted a roka before the marriage, so she never said ‘no’. I haven’t forced any of my thoughts on her, but I Definitely want a traditional Indian wedding. That’s my only wish. I started the roka with a puja, which is important for me. I’m a modern mother but at heart, I’m quite conservative.”
She further added, “Nick is calm and mature. He’s a wonderful person and everyone in the family just loves him. He’s so polite and respectful towards elders. What more can a mother want!”
