Mumbai Police to record Tanushree Dutta’s statement over Nana Patekar row
When Tanushree Dutta levelled serious allegations of sexual misconduct against Nana Patekar, he maintained a stoic silence. Since he was busy shooting for Sajid Khan's Housefull 4 when the controversy broke, he promised to present his version of events in a press conference.
On Monday, Nana invited members of the media to his residence, but refused to answer any of their questions. He said that he was advised by his lawyers not to comment on the issue. When prodded by reporters for a statement, all he said was, "10 saal pehle jo bola tha, wohi bolunga. Jo kal sach tha woh aaj sach hai. Jo aaj sach hai woh kal bhi sach hi rahega." Now, the Mumbai Police has come into action and will visit her home in the evening to record her statement. The actress had filed a complaint against the senior actor Nana Patekar in Mumbai's Oshiwara Police station.
Now, in response to her complaint, a team of Inspectors from Oshiwara Police stataion will go to Dutta's house in the evening at 5:30 PM to record her statement.
The entire controversy dates back to 2008 when the actress was shooting a song for the movie Horn Ok Please. The actress claimed that Nana Patekar wasn't a part of the sequence but he insisted on doing some steps with the actress. She claimed that the producer, Rakesh Sarang and Choreographer, ganesh Acharya did nothing when she complained to them about Nana's behaviour. Post this, the actress refused to shoot the song and locked herself up till her parents came to get her.
