Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who made her Bollywood debut with the Shah Rukh Khan film Raees, was mercilessly slammed over smoking pictures with Ranbir Kapoor. Right from trolling Mahira for wearing short dress and smoking to having an alleged relationship with Jagga Jasoos actor, haters left no stone untouched. Now, Mahira Khan, who is also a proud single mother has finally broken her silence to speak on the controversy. “Through the times of turbulence, through the joys, through the ups and downs, through the mistakes we make and all the success we get, let nobody… nobody’s opinion define who you are, And if anybody defines who you are, let it be yourself. Because including me and all the women out there, we’re all worth it!”, Mahira was quoted as saying at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Verna in Pakistan.
The 32-year-old actress spoke to local TV channel SAMAA TV and said ,“I am a very careful person otherwise. People ask me that I do not do this in films (probably she meant smoking), I say I do not want to. Why should I do anything to show the world?”.
Furthermore, she clarified that meeting Ranbir was a completely personal thing. “It is my personal life and it is very normal for a boy and girl to hang out.” She again added that this one incident has taught her a lot”, Mahira Khan added. Meanwhile, in an earlier interview Ranbir opened up on his relationship with Mahira and said, “She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about”.
