Popular South Indian actress Keethy Suresh, who garnered praise for her role as Savitri in Mahanati, is all set to make her Bollywood debut. The gorgeous lady has already carved a niche for herself in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industry. Keethy Suresh will be appearing in her first Bollywood film opposite Ajay Devgn, which will be directed by Badhaai Ho fame director Amit Sharma. The yet-to-be-titled film will tell the story of the Indian football team from 1950 to 1963. It will have Ajay Devgn playing the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, a former Indian football team coach.
Announcing the news, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “IT’S OFFICIAL... Keerthy Suresh - a leading name in South Indian films - to make her Hindi film debut opposite Ajay Devgn... #BadhaaiHo director Amit Sharma will direct... Produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.”

While talking to a leading daily, Keerthy Suresh said, “Syed Abdul Rahim’s story is a forgotten chapter in Indian history and I am glad that the makers are telling it through a film.”
Boney Kapoor talked about the project and said, “ts also a conservative love story which focuses on the couple’s life after marriage. Keerthy is one of the most successful actresses in Tamil, Telegu and Malayalam cinema. Her presence would give us an enhanced reach in the Southern belt.”
Further details about the project are awaited. The release date of the film has not been announced by the makers yet.
