Kriti Sanon made headlines after her last Bollywood film Luka Chuppi grossed 120 crores on the box office. The film also starrer Kartik Aaryan and he as much admired for the success of the film. Soon after the film crossed 100 crore mark, Kriti Sanon stated that it was unfair to dedicate the success of the film to a male actor when the female actor worked equally hard in it. Her statements made many people to think about it. And now, the latest buzz around the actress suggest that Kriti Sanon has raised her fee by 40 percent after the success of Luka Chuppi.
Going by the report in Mid-Day, after giving hits like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi, kriti Sanon is confident that she can shoulder a film all by herself. A source close to the development told the news portal, "While Kriti had already signed Housefull 4 and Arjun Patiala last year, she has now come on board Amar Kaushik's surrogacy film that will be produced by Dinesh Vijan. For the budget that Luka Chuppi was made in, it emerged as a hit, making a fair amount of profit for Vijan. Since Kaushik's film on surrogacy has Sanon's character taking the narrative forward, she will be required to do most of the heavy lifting."
The source added, "If one considers the responsibility of carrying this film on her shoulders, coupled with her past successes, Kriti is fair in asking for a pay hike. For her forthcoming films, including the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra project that she is in talks for, she is expected to command a fee which is a 40 per cent jump from her current remuneration."
Talking about her role in Luka Chuppi and the due credit she deserved but didn’t get, Kriti Sanon said earlier, "This business of overlooking the leading lady has been going on for a while and it's so unfair. I am glad this conversation is finally happening. It's logical to talk about only the male protagonist when the leading lady doesn't have a lot to do, but when they are both carrying a film on their shoulders, the credit should be equally shared. Everybody deserves a mention."
