Ayushmann Khurrana’s next film Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan has been in the headlines ever since it was announced. The actor will be seen playing the role of a gay man in the film. The makers were searching for another actor to be paired opposite Ayushmann and it looks like their search has ended. The makers of Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan have reported finalized Kota Factory actor Jitendra Kumar to play the love interest of Ayushmann Khurrana in the film.
Going by the reports in BollywoodLife, a source was quoted saying, “The character is of a small town boy and the makers wanted to take an actor who can pull off the character with ease. The makers wanted a relatively fresh face and after doing the rounds of auditions, Jitendra fitted all the bills. Although he has not signed on the dotted line yet, he is the one.” Jitendra is famous for starring in The Viral Fever’s sketches and is well known as ‘Jeetu Bhaiyya’ on Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms.
In the first week on may, Ayushmann Khurrana announced that he will be seen in the sequel of his film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan with a quirky video. He captioned it saying, “Shubh Mangal saavdhan ki safalta ke baad, hum la rahe hain, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. Hum mehnat zyada kar lengey...Aap pyar thoda zyada de dijiyega”
The 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan received good reviews from fans and critics for dwelling on a quirky and different topic. This time again Anand L. Rai has chosen a rarely touched topic to entice the viewers to the theaters. It is said that the first draft of the script is already locked up and the actor will start shooting for the film by the end of August. The film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule with the entire ensemble cast and the makers are targeting an early 2020 release.
While talking about Shubh Mangal 2, Ayushmann, in a statement, said, “It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face.” He further added, “It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It is a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. It is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema.”
