The internet can be a vicious place sometimes, or say most of the times. One single mistake and you end up becoming the longest running troll on social media. And if you’re a celebrity, you have to check thrice or more to make sure you’re not giving a fodder to these trolls. Little did Karan Johar think that a simple announcement of Kesari’s lead actress would land him in trouble. On Wednesday, the filmmaker announced the name of Parineeti Chopra as lead actress in his upcoming film Kesari. But instead of using Parineeti’s picture in the announcement, he used Akshay Kumar’s look from Kesari. It didn’t go down well with the Tweeple. See how they bombarded KJo with some hilarious responses.

There are some of the reactions summing up the internet’s sentiments.

One user tweeted: Parineeti Chopra is looking stunning in that beard.

All these attacks made on Karan Johar, made him reannounce the lead actress of the film. He also apologised to his fans and also stated that the picture used by him is misconstrued. He wrote: Ok guys that was meant to be an image of #KESARI whilst announcing the lead actress of the film! Clearly Twitter is quick to Jump and attack! Apologies!!!!! This is to re announce the wonderfully talented @ParineetiChopra as lead cast of #KESARI.

Parineeti tweeted: "So excited to be a part of this legendary journey! Thank you Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Anurag Singh."

The shooting of the Anurag Singh directorial began last week. It is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay has called it his "most ambitious film". He shared his first look from the movie, and he is seen sporting a saffron turban and a beard.
