Katrina Kaif wants to do THIS film of Deepika Padukone, says ‘I would jump at it’

Katrina Kaif is busy promoting her upcoming Bollywood film Bharat these days. The actress will be seen playing the role of ‘Madam Sir’ Kumud Raina alongside Salman Khan in the film. As the duo promote their film on various platforms, they are on a revealing spree by spilling out interesting things about their personal and professional lives. Recently, when Katrina Kaif was asked about her Bollywood career and the kind of roles she is looking for now, the actress revealed that she is looking for strong scripts. She also praised her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone and revealed that she would love to do a film like Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak.

While talking to TOI, Katrina Kaif talked about her last role Babita Kumari from the film Zero. The actress earned much accolades for her performance in the film. Talking about the same, she said, "Today, I see Babita Kumari (Her character in 'Zero') as a character; whether she is the protagonist or not isn't important. I see Kumud as a heroic character. Tomorrow, if a role like what Deepika (Padukone) is doing in 'Chhapaak' is offered to me, I would jump at it."

She added, "But you have to choose from what is offered to you. Out of what is offered to me, I am choosing the strongest characters as well as what seems right for me. But it's not that ‘Oh! I am in a female-centric film, so that automatically makes it a good character'”.

Further revealing details about the films she would like to do in future, Katrina Kaif said that she is willing to step into the shoes of a sports personality for a biopic. Also, Katrina Kaif has action films on her mind, she would like to do “a film like Gone Girl, which is in the psychological thriller space.”

Speaking of striking a balance between glamorous/commericial and intense roles, Katrina was quoted as saying, "I personally feel that it's important to do both. Kareena (Kapoor Khan) does it quite well. She does a Singham 2 and Good News or Veere Di Wedding. I think she is striking that balance nicely. You don't have to dedicate yourself to only certain kind of characters and negate all others. It's a personal choice."
