Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar to come together for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi

This is no secret that after the success of Simmba, Rohit Shetty is all set to start his next project with Khiladi Akshay Kumar titled as Sooryavanshi. The rumours are rife that Katrina Kaif will be collaborating with Akshay and will star opposite him in the film. The duo have been seen together in Bollywood films like Humko Deewana Kar gaye and Tees Maar Khan and fans have loved them together. This news of them coming together has excited the fans to another level.

Going by the reports in Pinkvilla, a source revealed to the tabloid, “Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have delivered many blockbusters at the box office and their pair is an extremely popular one with fans and at the boxoffice. While Tees Maar Khan was their last movie together, they have been approached by many filmmakers to do a movie together but Katrina has turned them down as she’s been looking for a strong role opposite Akshay. Akshay will be seen in the role of ATS officer Veer Suryavanshi in this comedy-drama film apparently, the actress who is paired romantically opposite him, will play his girlfriend and wife who is a pillar of support to him in a background full of corruption and intrigue. It’s a strong role and Katrina is definitely being considered as one of the options and approached for the same. It’s all very hush-hush right now till everything is finalised.”

The source adds, “Rohit has not worked with Katrina before and last year too there was talk that the actress was in talks with the filmmaker for Simmba but it fizzled out. This time Katrina may find it tough to say no as Rohit Shetty is now the first Bollywood director whose eight consecutive films (with Simmba) have earned over Rs. 100 crore at the box office and every actor and actress is vying to work with him. Katrina is yet to sign a film after Bharat so her dates diary is open at present. Sooryavanshi shoot starts from mid-2019 and Bharat would have released by then.”

However, the reports also suggest that Rohit Shetty rubbished the news and said that the team is still working on the script. Earlier, the rumours had it that Pooja Hegde, who will be next seen in Housefull 4, was roped in to play the lead role in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.
