Kartik Aaryan to romance Disha Patani
Disha Patani and Kartik Aaryan are all set to collaborate for the first time for Anees Bazmee's rib-tickling college romance story. The yet untitled project will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and it will go on floors by mid-2019. This will be Anees Bazmee's first romantic film after a decade. His last romance drama was 1998 film Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha starring Kajol and Ajay Devgn.
This is Disha's third Bollywood movie and for the first time, she will be exploring the genre of comedy. On the other hand, comedy is the forte of the lead actor Kartik Aaryan. Whether it is Pyar Ka Punchnama series or Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kartik has left everyone impressed with his comic timing. At the same time, director Anees Bazmee is quite popular for making comedies. He is currently shooting for Pagalpanti, which has John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Anil Kapoor, Kriti Kharbanda, Arshad Warsi and Pulkit Samrat in important roles. He has started the shooting in London.
In an official statement, T-Series honcho Bhushan Kumar said, ''This one is a classic Anees Bazmee style rib-tickler romcom which will leave everyone in splits.” As far as Kartik is concerned, Bhushan likes the way he effortlessly gets into the skin of the characters. Talking about Disha, he said, “Disha’s work I have seen in Bharat which we are producing. She is a good performer. It’s always interesting to present a fresh pairing on screen.”
Sharing a few details about her character, Disha said, “In this one, I play a girl-next-door who I can easily relate to. The characters are college students. There can be no better co-star than Kartik who is a pro at comedies.”
''I am sure it will be a crazy, fun ride, Anees Bazmee style,'' said excited Kartik. On a related note, this film also marks the third collaboration of Kartik Aaryan and Bhushan Kumar, after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Pati Patni Aur Woh remake.
