Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, who were engaged to be married once, attended the same wedding in UAE recently. The former lovers apparently started dating each other way back in 1997 and got engaged in 2002. The engagement, however, was called off after a few months as gossip insists that the Bachchans had asked Karisma to quit her career in films. Now, the duo came under the same roof at Sonam Kapoor’s cousin Mohit Marwah's wedding. The actor married Anatara Motiwala at a resort in UAE's Ras Al Khaima on February 20.
While Karisma and Abhishek avoided being clicked together at the star-studded wedding, Abhishek’s sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda reportedly had no qualms posing for a photo with Karisma.
Karisma, Shweta, Arjun Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Manish Malhotra and a friend can be seen posing together in a picture from the wedding.
Whereas Abhishek Bachchan was seen posing with Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja, Shweta Bachchan, Karan Johar and Aarti Shetty at the wedding.
Junior Bachchan had got engaged to Karisma in 2002, but it was called off a few months later. Though many theories were floated about their break up, the real reason remains a mystery till date. Abhishek's sister Shweta, though, is very much a part of the Kapoor family as she is married to Karisma's cousin, Nikhil Nanda.
Karisma Kapoor ended her 13 years of marriage with entrepreneur Sunjay Kapur and divorced him in 2016. She lives with her children Samiera and Kiaan Raj and is reportedly dating Mumbai-based industrialist Sandeep Toshniwal.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan got married to Aishwarya Rai in 2007 and. now the couple is blessed with a six-year-old daughter Aaradhya.
