Filmmaker Karan Johar is not among those who ignore their trolls and move forward. He is the one who makes sure to give it back to them in the sassiest way. The filmmaker recently announced his upcoming directorial Takht, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The multi-starrer period drama is set in Mughal era.
While the buzz around Takht was on, KJo posted a message along with the poster of his previous work Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, which clocked 12 years a few days back. Along with the picture, he wrote, ''A film that will always remain special to me! Had polarised responses but is discussed and probably understood better today! My dream cast''.
Quite sweet! Isn't it? But as you know trolls just can't accept things they don't like and also, they come uninvited. KJo's posts too drew flak from some who criticised him for promoting nepotism and extramarital affairs. A Twitter user wasn't quite pleased with his post on 12 years of KANK, hence, he wrote, ''Thanks for promoting Extra Marital affairs,'' to which the director replied, ''Hello uninformed person! You cannot promote something that is already a big hit!''.
His Takht announcement post also didn't go down well with a certain section of people. A lady wrote,''soooo Karan @karanjohar's new film #Takht is not under Dharma Productions rather Nepotismismyname Productions.'' Some even demanded to cast Taimur in it. Karan made sure to reply to the lady with a pinch of sarcasm. He wrote, ''Ma’m...your clever coinage is original and has a dash of humour but nothing can match your beautiful DP image! Hand on chin and looking at an undisclosed location.''
Karan was in no mood to forgive any of the trolls. One wrote, ''Another example of #Nepotism by @karanjohar .Favoring friends, kids of friends, family and relatives. I hate watching Bollywood films now. The industry is run like a dynasty now,'' to which the director replied, ''You must stop immediately or the world will come to a drastic end!''
On the professional front, Karan's last production was Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak. His next ambitious project is multi-starrer Kalank, which stars Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt among others.
