Karan Johar with Yash and Roohi

Karan Johar is a proud single parent to adorable twins, Yash and Roohi. The filmmaker welcomed these two babies in February 2017 via surrogacy. He was actually one of the first Bollywood celebs to have a child through surrogacy. However, KJo is also among those who often get trolled. There is a lot of hatred on social media and he is always on the receiving end. But, the Dharma Productions honcho knows how to tackle trolls and their nonsensical talk.

Recently, a Twitter user, who has now deleted her page, accused Karan Johar of keeping Yash and Roohi away from mother's love. This didn't go down well with the director, who slammed the lady and asked her to focus on important issues rather than his personal life. He wrote, “Ma’m!! With all due respect! Get a life! There are larger issues the country is combatting at the moment and it can very well do without your narrow mindedness! My babies are being LOVED and that’s all that matters...and FYI they have a mother!! My mother! Get it! ???”

Recently in an interview with Times Now, Karan Johar spoke about parenting. ''Being a single parent is really daunting and scary. Because I think it takes a mother and a father to complete the upbringing of a child. In many ways you could say that having Yash and Roohi is full of love but it is also a selfish decision. It is because I want that love for myself. "There was a large empty space in my life that needed to be filled by children. Oddly, they call me dad and call my mom (Hiroo Johar) 'mama'. They don't call her daadi. Because I feel we are co-parenting them. So I am trying very hard that both of us fulfill the roles of mother and a father completely," Karan was quoted saying in the report.

Roohi and Yash have been named after Karan Johar's parents, Hiroo Johar and late filmmaker Yash Johar. Roohi is a rearrangement of Hiroo Johar.

On the professional front, Karan Johar has multiple projects in the pipeline, which includes Kesari, Kalank, Student of the Year 2 and Brahmastra. He will also be directing a period drama titled Takht.
