Veteran actress Tanuja turned 75 today, and her daughter Kajol has a special day planned out for her. “The whole family is having lunch together — we’re going to have a good time. We are making all her favourite things,” Kajol was quoted as saying to a leading daily. Now, the actress took to her Instagram page to wish her lovely mother with a throwback picture.
In this picture, Tanuja looks beautiful and radiant in a red saree and a Nath. Besides Tanuja is Kajol's great-grandmother who is all smiles. There's a woman in the pic whose face can't be seen but seems like it's Kajol. It's a happy picture as all the three ladies are engaged in some fun conversation.
Kajol captioned this picture, "Happy happy birthday to my super awesome mom who still has the same zest and love for life that she did fifty years back...... a difficult example to follow but the most important influence in my life ! Also in the picture is her grandmother and my great grandmother who was also one of the biggest influences in my life ! Ratanbai Shilotri!".
Yesterday, Kajol hosted a pre-birthday bash for her mom with a cake cutting ceremony in presence of her son Yug, sister Tanishaa and veteran actor Dharemdra. She captioned that picture, "Friends family loved ones ....... a life well spent. A deserving 75th birthday! Pre pre but not any less celebrated".
Meanwhile, Kajol recently agreed that there is pay disparity in the film industry but at the same time, she also says that an actress' film can't mint Rs 500 crores like a Salman Khan film.
There has been pay disparity among male and female actors of Bollywood and many actresses in the recent past have raised their voice against it.
On the issue, Kajol said: "I think that issue has to do with box office collections to a big extent and there is gender issue for sure, but if you see, not a single actress film can do Rs 500 crore business the way a Salman Khan film does at the box office. Actresses over the years have been an integral part in the success of a film, but after all, it's a business."
