Jaya Bachchan showers praise on daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Jaya Bachchan, veteran actress and political leader, is known to speak her mind on every situation and that’s what people love about her. From societal issues to personal life, the veteran actress never minces her words before blurting them out. While a lot has been said about Jaya Bachchan and her daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actress has always said golden words for the former Miss World. An old interview of Jaya Bachchan is going viral on the internet once again in which she is seen showering praises on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and complimenting her values.
While talking to People’s Magazine in 2008, Jaya Bachchan was questioned about her not being an easily forgiving person, to which she said, “I agree with you. But if you reason with me, I am a very forgiving person. I am an honest person, I do not have needs in life, I can be happy anywhere. And I hope and think I have brought my children up with the right values. I keep telling my son every single day, it doesn't matter if a film does well or not. What matters is a light boy saying 30 years later, 'It was such a pleasure working with you.”
Further, when she was asked if these were the values, she wanted her daughter-in-law to rub off, she was all-praises for Aishwarya and said, “Yes. That is why I wanted my son to marry a girl who has those values, who has that tradition, that culture.” On this note, she was further asked if Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage plans with Karisma didn’t workout because of one of these reasons. To this, Jaya Bachchan took a long silence and then said, “She has the blood and genes of the Kapoors. They have the tradition. Her father and I were buddies, they had good relations with my husband. So, one must not always blame the families.”
In a media interaction earlier, Jaya publicly complimented her daughter-in-law's skills as a mother and stated, "Sometimes I tease Aishwarya and I say Aaradhya is a very lucky girl because can you imagine having a nurse like Miss World Aishwarya?!" Not just in interviews but when the actress appeared on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan, she expressed her warmth towards Aishwarya and said that she loves her.
She said, "She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who our good friends are."
