Here’s how Deepika Padukone reacted to Siddhant Chaturvedi’s performance in Gully Boy
Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi has emerged as the new star in the tinsel town and is the talk of the town. The budding star gained much applause for the portrayal of his character named MC Sher in Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy.
The actor is on cloud nine as he is receiving praise from all around, but was extremely excited to get positive feedback from actress Deepika Padukone. After watching Siddhant’s performance in Gully Boy, Deepika said ‘Oh! He is just a boy, he is so cute’. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he said, ‘’People were expecting someone huge. You know like someone around 28. When people saw me in real they were quite astonished. They were like ‘Oh he is just 25! He is so cute.’ So I think that was a compliment. When people are surprised by your onscreen self and then they see you off screen, that is actually a compliment. Also, they thought I am a real rapper.’’
The actor recently in an interview with an entertainment portal made some interesting revelations about his personal life. He said, ‘’Yes, I am seeing somebody. She is from the industry, but not an actress.’’
Further, in the interview, he said, "I was dancing on Mirchi Lagi Toh Mein Kya Karu’ when Zoya saw me for the first time. Then Gallan Goodiyan’ played from Dil Dhadakne Do and then I danced with her. Just immediately after that, she was like, Listen! who are you? I want you to audition for this. I’m like Yeah, and that’s how I bagged the audition."
Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar, it is loosely based on the life of street rappers Divine and Naezy. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz and Siddhant Chaturvedi in supporting roles.
