Here's WHY Akshay Kumar and Alia Bhatt did NOT vote this Lok Sabha Elections 2019
Bollywood actors like Alia Bhatt and Akshay Kumar always impress the audience with their content-driven films. Both the actors are known for their acting skills and their choice of selecting films which include some kind of social message.
On that note, it is surprising for the audience when we hear that such responsible actors did not become part of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Alia Bhatt and Akshay Kumar didn't vote in the elections 2019.
Akshay Kumar who has done films like Kesari, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman, Rustom, Gold, and Airlift has always been escalating his fan base for the reason that his films serve a social message. The actor is also known for his sterling contribution to society. In the past, the 51-year-old actor has also launched an app called "Bharat Ke Veer" for the slain soldiers.

So, while we agree that the actor does every bit of his for the betterment of the country, what made him to not vote for Lok Sabha Elections 2019? In a recent statement made by Akshay Kumar, he says that he serves his nation India with proud but also accepts to hold Canadian citizenship.

Akshay was born in Amritsar, a city in Punjab and was brought up in the capital city Delhi. later, when he gained recognition for his works, the government of Canada honoured him with a passport. As per Indian government rules, one person cannot hold two passports which is why Akshay returned his Indian passport. This is the reason why the actor did not vote in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
Speaking of Alia Bhatt's reason for not voting, the 26-year-old actress holds British passport just like her mother Soni Razdan. To vote in Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the actress had to give up on her British citizenship and apply for Indian citizenship and passport.
