Upcoming Bollywood film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India is one of the most awaited movies of the year. The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 28, 2018. After the trailer hit the web, all social media platforms were flooded with memes about Anushka’s character Mamta. Twitterati particularly seems to be hooked to a scene where the Pari actor is seen crying and now they can’t stop captioning it for various situations. Varun also called Anushka - ‘Memes Ki Rani’.

Now, Anushka Sharma has come to the forefront to speak about her viral Sui Dhaaga memes.  “I thought the memes were hilarious. I kept sharing them with Varun, Sharat (Katariya) and my friends.” She even considers it a compliment as it only goes to show that her character from the film has left an impression on the viewers. It is a compliment that my character has been stuck in people’s head after they watched the trailer”, the actress was quoted as saying to Mid-day.

“Mamta has become a figure that everyone identifies with. Memes have become a common feature today. People actually dedicate time to make them. But in our case, it happened naturally and that too, on a huge scale,” she added.

Recently, Sui Dhaaga makers dropped a video of how Anushka Sharma got Mamta’s look right for Sui Dhaaga.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Anushka Sharma shared the video in which she is seen talking about her film’s character Mamta.

The film also brings together National Award-winning producer-director combo of Maneesh Sharma and Sharat Katariya after their blockbuster Dum Laga Ke Haisha. The film is a special salute to the inherent entrepreneurial spirit that the youth of India and our local artisans have.
