Has Katrina Kaif shot for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi poster with Akshay Kumar?
Rumours had been doing the rounds for the longest time that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif will be paired opposite Akshay Kumar in filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. While the makers were silent about it, now it is finally confirmed that the Tees Maar Khan actress will star opposite Khiladi Kumar in the film. Akshay Kumar is set to play the character of ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) chief Veer Sooryavanshi in the film. The film was earlier supposed to hit the screens in December this year but the makers announced the new release date, which is Eid 2020.
Going by the latest reports in DNA, Katrina is said to have already shot for the poster of the film and it will be revealed soon. Now Sooryavanshi's producer Karan Johar took to his social media to announce that they have found the 'Sooryavanshi Gir;'. Sharing a picture with the leading duo and director Rohit Shetty, KJo wrote, "Welcoming the #Sooryavanshi girl on board, @katrinakaif! Releasing on Eid 2020!". The makers of the film have already released the first poster of the film featuring Khiladi Akshay Kumar. While sharing the first poster, Akshay wrote, “From #RohitShetty’s Police universe, get ready for the fire-packed #Sooryavanshi, releasing on Eid 2020!”. On another poster, he wrote, “A bullet for a bullet! Get ready for #RohitShetty’s #Sooryavanshi on Eid 2020. Action-packed, masala intact!” In the posters, Akshay Kumar is seen as an ATS officer ready to fight the criminals. This is Akshay Kumar’s first collaboration with Rohit Shetty. On the related note, a report in Pinkvilla had earlier revealed, “Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have delivered many blockbusters at the box office and their pair is an extremely popular one with fans and at the boxoffice. While Tees Maar Khan was their last movie together, they have been approached by many filmmakers to do a movie together but Katrina has turned them down as she’s been looking for a strong role opposite Akshay. Akshay will be seen in the role of ATS officer Veer Suryavanshi in this comedy-drama film apparently, the actress who is paired romantically opposite him, will play his girlfriend and wife who is a pillar of support to him in a background full of corruption and intrigue. It’s a strong role.”
The team of Sooryavanshi have already headed to Goa to begin with the first schedule of the film He had taken to Instagram and shared the picture along with his team on Instagram and captioned it, "Mission SOORYAVANSHI En route Goa".
