Amaal Mallik, who has composed music for films like "Badrinath Ki Dulhania" and "Golmaal Again", says he got tired of following the rulebook. The composer has given many hit fast-paced songs and romantic numbers. His latest composition "Subah subah" from director Luv Ranjan's forthcoming film "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety" is a multi-genre track. It has traces of genres like tropical house, deep house and dance hall.

"I was getting tired of sticking to a certain rulebook and a style of working in the past year. Luv Sir is the man responsible for pulling me out of a rut," Mallik said in a statement to IANS.

Singers Prakriti Kakar and Arijit Singh have lent their voice to the track. The lyrics have been penned by Kumaar.

On his first release of 2018, Mallik said: "I have collaborated with Arijit for such a song after so many years. It's like a 'Sooraj dooba hai' reunion for us. Prakriti has done a wonderful job."

Amaal Mallik wants to get back to composing outside of films as well. The 27-year-old composer “loves” to make music for films, but doesn’t want to get restricted to just doing that. “For movies, you have to stick to a story, and you work on the music according to the situation. Don’t get me wrong, I love composing for movies, and I think a lot of my music for films is the reason why people now know me. But, now I am getting back to the early days, where I would compose for projects other than movies,” says Amaal.

“In the last two years, I have composed over 51 songs. I have slowly paced myself in movies, and I am pretty happy with what I have done there. Now I have started composing for web based films, for video games. I love making soundtracks for video games, because it is a completely different challenge, and I get to do something different. I used to compose a lot of music for video games, before I got into movies, and I am slowly getting back to it,” Amaal says.
