The entire nation is immersed in festivity as Wing Commander Abhinandan is all set to come back home after two-days in Pakistan captivity. The neighbouring country captured Wing Commander Abhinandan as his fighter jet crashed after air combat across the Line of Control. He shot down Pakistani F-16 before his own went down, landing into Pakistani territory. People are glued to the screens as they can't wait to catch the first glimpse of IAF pilot Abhinandan, as the hero returns home. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan welcomed the air warrior through a social media post. Sharing a picture of National Flag, he wrote, ''There is no better feeling than Coming back Home, for home is the place of love, hope & dreams. Ur bravery makes us stronger. Eternally grateful. #WelcomeBackAbhinandan''.

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and Riteish Deshmukh also took to Twitter to welcome Abhinandan. The actress wrote, ''It’s midnight & I cannot sleep. I’m so happy that #AbhinandanVartaman is going to be coming home. I can only imagine what his family feels right now. Every minute will feel like a lifetime & the heart will skip many beats. #WelcomeBackAbhinandan We salute your bravery & valour''. Deshmukh, who was recently seen in Total Dhamaal saluted the bravery of Wing Commander Abhinandan with a tweet.

Calling Abhinandan 'a true hero', Varun Dhawan, who is currently shooting for Street Dancers wrote, ''Welcome back home #WelcomeBackAbinandan a true hero. These humane actions give hope that all humanity is not lost. Bharat mata ki Jai''.

Actor Sidharth Malhotra also called Abhinandan a "real hero". Taking to his Twitter account, he wrote: "#WelcomeHomeAbhinandan You are a real hero and we as a nation stand beside you, Thank you for your selfless service, Jai Hind" Check out his tweet here;

Bollywood actress and fitness freak, Shilpa Shetty also took to her Instagram account and stitched some beautiful words together to welcome wing commander Abhinandan. She wrote: "Welcome home, Wing Commander #Abhinandan. This is how a REAL #Hero looks. Saashtang Dandvat Pranam. Salute to our defence team & IAF on the successful surgical strike. So proud as an Indian to know our country is well equipped to hit back hard. #Respect to our PM @narendramodi ji for his VISION & PROMPT TOUGH stand. It’s NEVER about WAR, but OUR fight AGAINST TERRORISM #peace #IAF #goals #JaiHind #Gratitude #salute #bravery #makepeacenotwar"

Gully Boy Ranveer Singh, too, couldn't resist himself from welcoming our brave wing commander Abhinandan. The actor tweeted proud words saying, "Welcome home Abhinandan! आपकी वीरता सर आँखों पर! Inspiration to our whole nation. Jai Hind" Check out the post here:

For unversed, when India confirmed that one of its pilots is missing after the faceoff with Pakistan, the neighbouring country confirmed that he is in their custody. Major General Asif Ghafoor, spokesperson of the Pakistan Armed Forces took to Twitter to write, ''There is only one pilot under Pakistan Army’s custody. Wing Comd Abhi Nandan is being treated as per norms of military ethics''.

Soon after, videos and pictures of Wing Commander Abhinandan started surfacing on social media. While one video shows him allegedly assaulted by the mob, in the other, he is being interrogated by Pakistani officers. Later, Pakistan PM Imran Khan announced that the pilot will be returned to India as a ''friendly gesture''.
