Bad news for all the Deepika Padukone fans! The fire has broken out on the top floor of a high rise in Worli, Mumbai in which Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is one of the residents. While many residents have fallen prey to the fire, the actress is safe as she was away from her house for the shoot.
Over 90 residents have been rescued safely from the building as per police reports. It is said that Mumbai Police as well as Firefighting Personnel are present at the spot and are trying to cease the fire. "They are trying to do their best and douse the fire," the Mumbai Police said on Twitter.
Officials of the fire brigade have reportedly said that five fire engines have been sent to the spot as the top two floors of the building have been affected badly. The fire is said to break out at around 2 pm on the 32nd floor of the building.
As reported by the Indian Express, someone close to Deepika Padukone said, “It’s not her house or office which has caught fire. It has happened on the 32nd floor. The fire brigade is on their way already. Deepika is on the set shooting for her brand. Her staff has evacuated the apartment.”
The Padmaavat actress bought an apartment in the building with father Prakash Padukone in 2010. The house has been jointly registered in the name of Deepika Padukone and Prakash Padukone. Rumours have it that Deepika Padukone is also planning to shift with Ranveer Singh's family after marriage.
