Deepika Padukone penned letter sharing her depression struggles days before marrying Ranveer Singh

Deepika Padukone is one of the few celebrities who mustered the courage to come out in public and speak about their depression struggles. As she has already told earlier, back in 2014, she was diagnosed with depression. She sought timely professional help and fortunately, she escaped the claws of depression to tell her tale to the world. However, this didn’t stop there. She found The Live Love Laugh Foundation to abolish stigma around depression and help more and more people to open up on their depression battles.

Not only us, even Tesla CEO Elon Musk is in love with Ranveer, Deepika’s Bajirao Mastani!

Days before tying the knot with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone penned an emotional letter for everyone who has gone through or is suffering from depression. The handwritten letter will be published in the 22nd anniversary edition of Elle India magazine. The magazine’s Instagram account shared the news on its official account.

The caption reads, “A few days before her wedding @deepikapadukone wrote a letter addressing her struggle with anxiety and depression, for our 22nd Anniversary Issue. By publicly talking about her own battles, she empowered many to reach out and seek help. Her letter is full of empathy and kindness, a reminder that (in the words of Stephen Fry) 'it will be sunny one day'."

Deepika Padukone addressed the audience at World Congress on Information Technology and Nasscom India Leadership Forum saying, “It's okay to have moments of weakness, okay to break down and okay to cry. It's okay if you don't look great all the time."

Deepika Padukone has always stressed on the need for people to be more vocal and accepting about mental illness. She also warned that it might become the next big epidemic to hit our country.
