Ranveer Singh starrer Kapil Dev’s biopic called 83 often grabs the headlines with reports of its developments. The actor is currently undergoing heavy training to ace the game of the legendary cricketer and Kapil Dev himself is teaching him his moves. Now, the latest reports related to the movie suggest that not just Kapil Dev but his daughter Amiya Dev is also a part of the biopic. Yes, she will be making her debut as an assistant director with Kabir Khan on the film 83.

Cricketer Sandeep Patil's son, Chirag, who would be seen playing his father in the film has spilled the beans about Amiya’s directorial debut. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, he revealed, "We met for the first time while working on the film. She’s from Delhi, I'm from Mumbai and she's way younger than me. She's part of our daily training sessions since she is on the direction team. So, she keeps us updated on any meetings we are supposed to attend. Whenever I'm in Kabir's office she's there and is very involved in the process, be it planning the costumes or the schedule."

Talking about the film, the unit of 83 is all set to head to Dharamshala for another training schedule and will bond with each other. Kabir Khan’s 83 will bring alive the world cup winning moment of the Indian cricket team from 1983. The makers have already revealed the star cast of the film and it will also feature Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk and Pankaj Tripathi.

Talking about playing Kapil Dev in the film, Ranveer Singh said that he wishes to become the cricketer’s shadow. “The film’s story is one of the most glorious chapters in our nation’s sporting history. Kabir (Khan) director and I were discussing that we don’t have to do much there. You just tell the story, and it has got everything — a spectacular, unreal tale. There’s an entire generation who doesn’t know about it — how they did it and the fashion in which they achieved the victory,” the Gully Boy actor was quoted as saying to DNA.
