Comedian Sunil Grover to return to TV with a mini-series
Ever since comedian Sunil Grover’s ugly fight with Kapil Sharma, the two comedians have been away from the small screen and fans are missing them a lot. While Kapil Sharma has already given the Diwali gift to his fans by bringing back his most popular show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, it is now time for Sunil Grover fans to do the happy dance as he will be back on TV as well. Known for his roles of Ghuthi and Dr Mashoor Gulati, comedian Sunil Grover is back with a new character and a new television series on Star Plus.
According to the reports in Pinkvilla, a source has informed, “Star Plus which is currently on top for its fiction shows has been trying to explore the comedy space. Though there have comedy shows on Star previously, the channel is trying to carve a niche for itself in that space as well and for that, they have got onboard Sunil for a weekend mini series. The miniseries will have Grover giving a roundup of the year 2018 with several other comedians including Sudesh Lahiri joining him along with film personalities. The series will be limited to 14 episodes because of Grover’s busy schedule but may get extended depending on the response.”
About the show, the source adds, “Grover will be seen in an entirely new character, work on which is underway. He will be playing a middle-aged UP based character. Not just that, joining him as co-host will be a film personality. Talks are on for the same. He will be seen interacting with celebrities about their films and will focus on bringing out the candidness. Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh are expected to grace the show to promote their films Zero and Simmba respectively. The makers are also in talks with Rekha to join the team for an episode. The team is rigorously working on the show will go on air in the first weekend of December. The time slot for the same is being discussed but it will most probably take the 9 PM slot.”
Well, this news has definitely got all the Sunil Grover fans excited. On the other hand, the comedian might have been away from the television, he is not away from the big screen. He was recently seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha in which his role was much appreciated and is also shooting currently for Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat.
