Boney Kapoor talks about his life after Sridevi and his children coming together
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor is enjoying the success of her daughter Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak. The movie is doing well in all aspects, from box office numbers to critical appreciation, it is garnering everything it deserves. In just five days, Dhadak has earned Rs 43.59 crores in the domestic market.
Talking to Spotboye about Janhvi’s first film and the response it is getting, Boney Kapoor said, “It had been a long time since we had a real good love story. Dhadak takes us back to the good, old days of nice songs and innocent romance--- on the lines of Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh in Betaab, Kamal Haasan and Rati Agnihotri in Ek Duuje Ke Liye.”
While Boney Kapoor is in a good place with all his children coming together and doing well in life, the filmmaker often feels how would it have been if Sridevi was here to share the happiness. Talking about his children, he said, “I am blessed to have these four. They love each other a lot and I am glad that they have come together. It was due to happen anytime, it just happened when something unfortunate happened. They are all my blood and they had to come around.”
However, Boney Kapoor credits this coming together to his eldest son Arjun Kapoor. He said Arjun being the eldest is the most responsible to bring them together. Arjun even flew with his father to Dubai when the news about Sridevi’s sudden death broke the internet. His eldest daughter Anshula was in Mumbai with Janhvi and Khushi.
Coming back to Janhvi’s Bollywood career, Boney Kapoor revealed that he is confident of her daughter’s instinct and know that she will choose the best for herself.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Dhadak also stars Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. The movie hit the theatres on July 20.
