Rohit Shetty will be getting busy shooting for his next project with Akshay Kumar, titled Sooryavanshi. Along with it, he has announced that he’ll soon come up with a female cop drama to complete the franchise. Rohit Shetty is well-known among cinema lovers for his commercial movies. His films are full of entertainment while carrying a social message within them. Not breaking the rhythm of his film, Rohit Shetty has now come out as the unparalleled king of the box office with back to back hits. On his 46th birthday, let’s have a look at the blockbusters he has delivered.

Golmaal: Fun Unlimited

It won’t be wrong to say that this multi-starrer comedy drama was a sleeper hit. It was one hell of a goofy, paisa vasool film, widely accepted by the masses. The box office numbers of the film speak for itself. It raked in Rs 699 million in its total run.

Golmaal Returns

Retaining the original star cast and adding few new members including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rohit Shetty gave us another family entertainer with Golmaal Returns. With its slapstick comedy, we don’t even wonder why Golmaal Returns became a massive box office hit. It did a business of Rs 1.08 billion at the box office.

Golmaal 3

Golmaal 3 became the second-highest grossing film of 2010 with numbers ranging up to Rs 160 crores. Despite the mixed reviews, the film which had Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn and the original Golmaal cast did a good business at the box office.

Singham

Singham, the cop drama is definitely one of the most successful franchises started by Rohit Shetty. The first part itself was well-received by the audience. Made with a budget of Rs 55 crore, Singham did thrice the business. It earned around Rs 150 crore at the BO.

Chennai Express

Starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles, Chennai Express was one of the most loved films helmed by Rohit Shetty. It raked in the mammoth numbers of Rs 423 crore at the box office, making it the biggest hit for the filmmaker.

Singham Returns

Repeating the history, this Ajay Devgn cop-drama did a good business at the box office. By this time, we understood that Rohit Shetty has achieved the formula to make a good commercial film. Made on a budget of Rs 105 crore, this Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer went on making Rs 216 crore at the BO.

Golmaal Again

Resurrecting his popular Golmaal franchise, Rohit Shetty returned with Golmaal Again in 2017. Owing to high anticipation around it and the horror-comedy genre, Golmaal Again was a massive hit. It raked in around Rs 300 crore at the box office.

Simmba

Simmba, being a Ranveer Singh’s first with Rohit Shetty, was a gigantic hit in terms of business. Despite getting mixed reviews, this Sara Ali Khan film went on breaking records at the box office. It did a total business of Rs 400 crore, being only a couple of digits behind Chennai Express to become Rohit Shetty’s highest grossing film ever.
