Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most talented and successful directors of Bollywood. He has given us many blockbuster films. This is known to all that his latest movie Sanju features actor Ranbir Kapoor and it is their first collaboration. But did you know that Hirani was keen to cast the handsome hunk in 3 Idiots? The film that was praised by critics and also performed well at the box office.
Recently, while promoting Sanju, Ranbir revealed to a leading daily that Hirani approached him for 3 Idiots. However, things didn’t work out well. He said, “Raju sir met me when he was writing 3 Idiots and was thinking of casting new or relatively newer actors.”
He went on to praise the filmmaker saying that he is hardworking and doesn’t work for awards or critics. His only aim is to entertain audience. He stated, “I always wanted to work with him. He is India's greatest filmmaker and working with him has only justified what the world thinks of him.”
On a related note, Sanju, based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, has released today. Along with Ranbir, it also features Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal and Manisha Koirala in pivotal roles.
